Welcome to Booragul Public School. A special welcome to all of our new families joining is for the first time - I know you will be very happy being a part of the Booragul School community.
All students and their families are welcomed at Booragul Public School. We have an exceptionally friendly, caring and supportive staff and school community that will endeavour to make all new students feel welcomed at the school.
If your child is starting Kindergarten the information below will assist you with preparing your child for big school.
Preparing Your Child For School
- Children should be fully immunised.
- Children should know and recognise their own name.
- Children should be confident to toilet themselves.
- Children should be able to open and close his/her lunchbox, lunch wrapper and drink bottle.
- Children should be able to listen and carry out requests.
- It is helpful if your child can put on and do up their own shoes and jumper.
Other Helpful Hints
- Please clearly name ALL of your childs belongings.
- Try to get up early enough to give your child a calm and ordered start to the day, with time to eat a sensible breakfast.
- It is important for your child to see that you have confidence in his/her teacher, as this will encourage his/her trust and confidence also. So communicate with the teacher regularly, it also helps us to better understand your child.
- Dont worry if your child eats less at school, it takes time to get used to eating in a group situation.
- Your child will be very tired after a busy day at school and may not want to discuss what has been happening each day. It is wise not to continuously question your child as this is tiring on both of you!
